ASUS has quietly announced a new line of gaming smartphones ROG Phone 5s.

What's known

The series includes two devices: ROG Phone 5s and ROG Phone 5s Pro. Both models are improved versions of the previously introduced ROG Phone 5 and ROG Phone 5 Pro. The novelties got the same look but slightly modified "stuffing".

The first innovation is the Qualcomm Snapdragon 888+ processor, instead of the usual Snapdragon 888. The SoC has increased to 3 GHz performance of the Cortex-X1 core, as well as improved the AI Engine by 20%. Of the innovations, it's also worth mentioning the increased memory in the Pro model to 18GB RAM and up to 512GB ROM. The regular ROG Phone 5s, on the other hand, got three modifications: 8/128GB, 12/256GB and 16/256GB. Apart from that, the smartphones still boast of a 360Hz sensor reading frequency. Thanks to this, the latency has dropped from 24.3 sec to a record 24 sec.

As for the other specifications, they remained the same. Novelties received AMOLED screens Samsung at 6.78-inch screens with FHD+ resolution, adaptive refresh rate up to 144 Hz, HDR10+ support and brightness up to 800 nits, protective glass Gorilla Glass Victus, 6000 mAh batteries with 65-watt charging support, multiple USB-C ports each, branded accessories, ESS Sabre ES9280AC Pro Quad DAC, stereo speakers with Cirrus Logic CS35L4 amplifiers, triggers, sub-screen fingerprint scanners, headphone jacks and triple 64 MP + 13 MP + 5 MP cameras.

Price and when wait

Sales of the ROG Phone 5s and ROG Phone 5s Pro will start in Taiwan on August 24. The base model will be priced from $1077, while the Pro will be priced at $1365.
