Indian company Ola Electric has announced two new inexpensive electric scooters.

What is known

The new models are called Ola S1 and Ola S1 Pro. They run on an octa-core processor paired with 3GB of RAM and Ola's proprietary MoveOS software. It allows owners to contactlessly unlock and lock scooters. In addition, the novelties have Bluetooth, GPS, Wi-Fi and support for synchronization with a smartphone. Through the app, you can watch the charge, the status of parts and the location of the device. By the way, if the scooter is stolen a notification will come to your phone. Other noteworthy features include cruise control, hill-hold system, built-in navigation and 7-inch touchscreen display.

The new models are equipped with mono shock absorbers in the front and disc brakes at the rear. Both models are delivered with 110/70-R12 MRF tires. In terms of differences, the base model Ola S1 got Hyperdrive engine with 8.5 kW. It is capable of accelerating the scooter from 0 to 40 km/h in 3.6 seconds. The top speed is claimed to be 90 km/h. This engine is powered by a 2.98kWh battery. One charge, according to the company says, is enough for 121 km. As for the Ola S1 Pro version, it gets the same engine, but acceleration to 40 km/h is already 3 seconds and the top speed is 115 km/h. This version is powered by a 3.97 kWh battery. On a single charge Ola S1 Pro can travel up to 181 km. The scooter batteries can be recharged using 750W charging stations (from 0 to 75% in 15 min).

The Ola S1 and Ola S1 Pro will go on sale in October, but only in India for now. The regular model will ask $1350 for the regular model, and $1750 for top-of-the-line model.
