Today Google has officially unveiled the Pixel 5a smartphone from middle price segment, which replaces Pixel 4a and Pixel 4a 5G. Some drastic changes are not so and much, but model still turned out to be quite interesting, especially considering the low price tag.

What is offered

Pixel 5a uses 6,34-inch OLED screen with standard 60 Hz sweep rate. But they've added water and  dust protection to the IP67 standard - for the first time in a model with prefix "a" in the name, not  in the flagship device. Of course, immersing the smartphone in water is not worth it, but rain and splash it

will survive. Inside is a Snapdragon 765G processor in conjunction with 6GB RAM and 128GB internal memory, and also a battery with 4680 mAh compared to 3885 mAh of Pixel 4a 5G. That is you can count on a full day without recharging, and in power saving mode - for 48 hours. The Pixel 5a supports fifth generation networks.

The main camera at smartphone is dual: 12.2  sensor with optical stabilization complements the 16 MP ultra-wide-angle lens. For selfies is responsible 8-megapixel front camera. The resolution is quite modest, but Google has long proved that a large number of modules and megapixels - not at all a guarantee of good quality photos and video.

Finally, the novelty is equipped with stereo speakers, a USB-C connector for charging and 3.5 mm audio jack for wired headphones.

Price

Pixel 5a with 5G is already available for pre-order in US and Japan at Google Store, and sales will start on August 26. The smartphone is priced at $449, which means is $50 cheaper than the Pixel 4a 5G at time of launch.

By the way, for those who need a top-of-the-line device, Google will introduce the Pixel 6 and Pixel 6 Pro flagships in the fall.
