Fortnite adds time-limited Among Us-style mode [video]

Epic Games has released a new time-limited mode in Fortnite called Imposters, allowing players to experience the spirit of Among Us without leaving the battle royale. Each match involves two teams consisting of eight agents and two impostors.

The action takes place on a new indoor map called The Bridge. The agents need to complete various tasks to make it safely to the end of the match. Naturally, the impostors try to set up a backstab at this plan. When a dead body is discovered, everyone still alive gathers to voice their suspicions and vote on who they think committed the crime. General voice chat is disabled in the game, and you'll have to use the quick chat menu and emoticons to communicate with those outside of your team.

As an imposter, you have a few tricks up your sleeve to throw the enemy team off your trail. You can make agents and impostors temporarily look like the banana mascot Peely from Fortnite, as well as teleport everyone to another location on the map. Just like in Among Us, you have the ability to freeze the progress of tasks that other players are working on.

For Epic Games, this is the second attempt at an Among Us-inspired mode. Late last year, the company released The Spy Within, another time-limited mode in which players split into teams of eight agents and two infiltrators. You can get in line to play The Imposters as soon as you download the latest Fortnite update.
