On the morning of August 17, the Nothing Ear (1) headphones went on sale for $99. The first batch sold out quickly, but some users didn't like the novelty very much.

What happened?

Nothing, a company founded by former OnePlus head Carl Pei, sold out all the headphones in just two minutes. Admittedly, the first batch only numbered 4,800 units. After the release, the novelty has caused a wave of criticism.

First, users complain about the noise cancellation system, which almost amplifies the external noise. Secondly, in "transparent" mode, the headphones generate ear-cutting sounds. Thirdly, users note the quiet sound during conversations. Fourth, buyers complain about loud background hiss, which is especially audible when playback is paused.

The company will try to solve these problems by releasing a software update. But there are disadvantages that cannot be fixed with a software update. In particular, users note that the large mesh in the large microphone holes gets dirty quickly. But the build quality of Nothing Ear (1) makes buyers happy.
