Pokémon Unite, a battle arena game that has so far only been available on Nintendo Switch, will be released on iOS, iPadOS and Android on September 22, Nintendo has announced.

Pokémon Unite is a free-to-play online multiplayer game first released for Nintendo Switch on July 21. In the game, players battle each other in five-on-five battles. During battles, players must cooperate with teammates, catch wild Pokémon, improve and develop their Pokémon, and strategically defeat opponents. To win a match, players must earn more points than the opposing team in the allotted time.

The cross-platform game will be available on Nintendo Switch and mobile devices, allowing players to link their accounts on both versions of the game to sync their achievements, save data and characters.

Pre-registration and signing up to be notified when the game will be available for download is already available on the App Store and Google Play Store. Nintendo said that if the number of pre-registrations for the mobile version of the game reaches 2.5 million, players will receive a "Pikachu Unite" or "Aeos Coins" license. If pre-registration reaches five million, players will receive a "Holowear-Festival Style: Pikachu" (whatever that means).
