Three Xiaomi smartphones received RAM expansion feature in MIUI 12.5

Xiaomi has started sending out the MIUI 12.5 firmware update, which brings Memory Fusion Technology's RAM expansion feature. The update has been released for three smartphones.

Who updated?

So far, the update is being rolled out in China. The RAM expansion feature along with the test closed beta of MIUI 12.5 Closed Beta dated August 17, 2021 (v21.8.17) has become available for Xiaomi Mi 10 Youth and Redmi Note 9 Pro 5G. Both models were announced last year. The latter became the world's cheapest smartphone with a 108MP camera at a price starting at $245. The release of the update for them means that soon the update will be released for Xiaomi Mi 10 Lite and Mi 10T Lite.

Memory Fusion Technology support along with stable build MIUI 12.5 Enhanced has become available for Xiaomi Mix 4 flagship smartphone. The firmware number is v12.5.4.0 RKMCNXM.

Recall, Memory Fusion Technology gives you the ability to increase the amount of RAM by creating a file on the storage, which is used on the principle of RAM. Depending on the storage capacity, users will be able to add 1-3GB to the RAM.
