Snapdragon 870, 50-megapixel Sony IMX766 sensor and Android 12 - OnePlus 9RT specifications revealed

OnePlus is preparing to introduce a new smartphone with Snapdragon 870 processor. It will be an improved version of OnePlus 9R and will be called OnePlus 9RT.

What is known?

The model goes by the codename Martini. It will offer users a few modest improvements over the smartphone announced in March this year.

Along with the 7nm Snapdragon 870 mobile processor, the OnePlus 9RT will retain a 4,500mAh battery and 65-watt wired fast charging. The smartphone will appear on sale with OxygenOS 12 or ColorOS 12 firmware and Android 12 operating system.

The key innovation compared to the original model will be the main camera. It should retain 16MP, 5MP and 2MP image sensors. The main module will feature a 50-megapixel Sony IMX766 1/1.56" optical sensor with 1µm pixels. The OnePlus 9R uses a 48-megapixel ½" sensor.

OnePlus 9RT will be launched in October 2021. There is no information about the pricing yet. To recall, the OnePlus 9R, depending on the modification, was priced at $540 or $590 at the start of sales.
