As strange as it sounds, OnlyFans bans "sexually explicit content"

OnlyFans is probably kicking millions of "small entrepreneurs" to the curb by placing new restrictions on the types of content it will allow on its platform. And on the types of content that made the world in principle aware of the service OnlyFans.

OnlyFans said Thursday that it is abandoning pornography, a cornerstone of its operations. In a statement, OnlyFans said it will ban "sexually explicit content" starting Oct. 1.

Where the line is drawn between "sexually explicit content" and just nudity, the company did not explain, but added that nudity, under its Acceptable Use Policy, would still be allowed.

What's the reason?

The looming lawsuit by credit card companies could bode big trouble for OnlyFans. The platform has repeatedly stated that content is moderated by both automated systems and humans, and reminded that creators must undergo a thorough identity check in order to post content.

But credit card companies aren't too friendly to pornography and have recently imposed moderation and host verification requirements.

OnlyFans doesn't say what will become of sexually explicit content posted before October 1 or the accounts of its creators, but promises to give a detailed explanation in the coming days. Well, unemployed "successful bloggers" are sure to get more of them in the near future.
