Pixel 4a 5G and Pixel 5 everything: Google is scrapping two of last year's smartphone models
Google recently introduced the smartphone Pixel 5a and announced the flagships Pixel 6 and Pixel 6 Pro, the full presentation of which is expected in autumn. And along with that the manufacturer quietly withdrew two older models from production.
who are we saying goodbye to?More precisely, not very old models - we are talking about smartphones Pixel 4a 5G and Pixel 5, which debuted less than a year ago. A Google spokesperson confirmed to Digital Trends that the Google Store is now already selling out stock of these models, after which they will disappear from the range.
"Based on our current projections, we expect the Google Store in the US to sell the Pixel 4a (5G) and Pixel 5 in the coming weeks after the Pixel 5a (5G) launch. Pixel 5a (5G) is a great option for customers, offering valuable hardware upgrades compared to Pixel 4a (5G) at a lower price", - emphasized a Google representative.
According to the report, this would also apply to markets outside the US, where Google officially sells Pixel phones.
Meanwhile, the regular Pixel 4a will remain on sale as a low-cost entry-level model.
