The Spotify app on Wear OS now allows you to download music

A couple of weeks ago, we wrote that Spotify was preparing a major update to its branded app on Wear OS and now, finally, smartwatch owners have started receiving it.

What's known

The update allows users to download Spotify content to Wear OS devices. You don't have to do it from your smartphone, you can start downloading directly from your smartwatch. Moreover, we are talking not only about music, but also podcasts (they are not yet available in our region). 

Those who are engaged in sports will definitely like this opportunity, because now during the training you won't need to take your smartphone with you. It is enough to wear a watch, download music to it and connect wireless headphones. The editorial staff of gg has already checked it out. Everything works without any problems. Naturally, the feature is only available to users with a Spotify Premium subscription.

The update is distributed in waves, so it may not appear to everyone at once.
