Fitbit Charge 5 - new design, AMOLED screen, SpO2, GPS, ECG and Fitbit Pay for $180

Google has announced the Fitbit Charge 5 sports bracelet. The new product offers the most sweeping design change since the first generation that came out in 2015.

Features

In Fitbit Charge 5 abandoned the angular design and for the first time used AMOLED panel. Compared to the last generation, the display has increased by 10%. There is also a useful feature Always-on. The capsule with the electronics has become thinner by the same 10% than the Fitbit 4.

A set of standard functions: ECG, stress and sleep monitoring, determining the level of oxygen saturation in the blood and heart rate calculation. The new device has a GPS navigation module and supports Fitbit Pay.

The Daily Readiness Score, which recommends workouts based on activity, is worth mentioning separately. But it's only available to users who have signed up for a $10 a month Fitbit Premium subscription.

When you connect the Fitbit Charge 5 to an Android smartphone, you can view notifications and reply to messages, but only by selecting from preset phrases. Support for iOS is also provided, but the aforementioned function is missing. Battery life is 2-7 days.

How much does it cost?

Buyers the novelty will be available in black, silver and gold colors. The Fitbit Charge 5 is priced at $180. To recall, the Charge 4 model was priced at $150. Sales in the U.S. are scheduled to start in the fall, and pre-orders are already open. First-time buyers will get a free 6-month subscription to Fitbit Premium.
