Xiaomi has released a stable version of the firmware MIUI 12.5 for the old cheap smartphone, which is sold under the brand name Redmi. And it is available at once two builds: Global and EEA (Europe).

Who's the lucky one?

Following the release of the Indian build, Xiaomi has started sending out European and Global MIUI 12.5 for the Redmi 8A smartphone, which will turn two years old in less than a month. The firmware is built on the Android 10 operating system.

This is the last major update for the model. From now on, it will only receive OS security patches. By the way, MIUI 12.5 brought an Android security patch dated July this year. The global version number is v12.5.1.0 QCPMIX and the European version is v12.5.1.0 QCPEUXM.

Recall, Redmi 8A appeared with MIUI 10 firmware and Android 9.0 Pie OS in late September 2019. The smartphone features a Snapdragon 439 chip, a 12MP primary and 8MP front camera, and the battery has a capacity of 5000 mAh.
