Joe Biden has been in power for more than six months, but this has not brought any benefits for Huawei. Although it was speculated that the Trump administration's departure would bode well for the Chinese giant, at the very least, an easing of sanctions, if not a full exit from them.

Insiders recently reported that contracts between Huawei and U.S. companies to supply hundreds of billions of dollars worth of electronic components for vehicles had been agreed. The Joe Biden administration has come under heavy criticism for this. Against this backdrop, rumors of sanctions easing immediately emerged. But there's really nothing to be happy about.

Sanctions against Huawei were imposed in the spring of 2019. Donald Trump's administration approved $87 billion worth of goods, while banning an estimated $119 billion worth of products. The U.S. Department of Commerce said that the Joy Biden administration has no plans to review the sanctions imposed on Huawei by the previous government.
