YouTube had over 2.3 billion active users at the beginning of 2021. But very few of them use paid services.

At the end of the third quarter of 2020, 30 million users subscribed to YouTube Premium or YouTube Music Premium. Since then, that number has more than doubled by half. According to new information, 50 million people (2.17%) have already signed up for a paid subscription.

True, this already includes users who have activated a trial subscription to YouTube Premium and YouTube Music Premium services. For the second quarter of 2021, YouTube generated $7 billion in revenue for Google.
