OnePlus has officially confirmed ColorOS release dates for 2019-2020 flagships

OnePlus is switching its smartphones from HydrogenOS to ColorOS. For now, it applies only to models sold in China, but soon OPPO shell will replace OxygenOS as well. Meanwhile, OnePlus has revealed ColorOS release dates for 2019 and 2020 models.

When to expect?

According to official information, all flagships starting with OnePlus 7 will be updated only next year. The company will release Color OS Open Beta for OnePlus 8, OnePlus 8 Pro and OnePlus 8T in early 2022. A stable firmware release is expected before the end of the first half of 2022.

The 7-series smartphones will have to wait a little longer. OnePlus 7, OnePlus 7T and their Pro-versions will not get a stable ColorOS shell until the second half of next year. But it will be possible to try out all the new features a little earlier. The open beta will arrive in mid-2022.

It is noteworthy that OnePlus does not specify the revision of either the firmware or the operating system. Currently, the current software is ColorOS 11 on Android 11, but the announcement of ColorOS 12 on Android 12 is coming soon.
