Not just Snapdragon 888: Huawei will use Snapdragon 778G and Snapdragon 898 processors in its smartphones
For a long time because of US sanctions, Chinese company Huawei could not use Qualcomm processors in its smartphones. Recently "curse" has been slightly weakened - flagships Huawei P50 series received the top-end Snapdragon 888 platform. Now, if reliable sources are to be believed, the manufacturer has gained access to a few more Qualcomm chips.
What does this mean?
The information was reported by Chinese insider Digital Chat Station, which has repeatedly received reliable information about Huawei's new products. According to him, the company will also use Snapdragon 778G and Snapdragon 898 processors in future smartphones. But like in the case of P50, these will be 4G versions of chips, without the ability to operate on fifth-generation networks.
Unfortunately, insider did not tell exactly which models will get the new chips. But we can assume that Snapdragon 778G is intended for Huawei nova 9 series, and Snapdragon 898 for future flagships Mate 50.
In addition, an insider claims that Huawei may also use MediaTek chipsets, but the deal is not yet finalized.
