MediaTek increases market share in mobile processors

The Taiwanese company MediaTek a year ago took the first place among the largest suppliers of mobile processors. Since then it has only been increasing its share.

Counterpoint analytical agency has summarized the results of the second quarter of 20221. According to the new information MediaTek share is 38%. This is the highest figure among all companies since the first quarter of 2020.

The second place is occupied by American chipmaker Qualcomm. It occupies 32% of the market. The third place is occupied by Apple, which processors are used only in solutions of the Cupertino company. The share of Samsung has fallen to 7%. A year ago the South Korean manufacturer had 13%.

Huawei dropped out of the top 5. In the second quarter of 2020 its share was as much as 16%. This was enough to take the third place, second only to Qualcomm and MediaTek. In the reporting period with 3% Huawei dropped to the sixth position, having passed Unisoc (5%).
