Official ColorOS 12 release schedule for seven OnePlus flagships published

Rumors about ColorOS 12 firmware for OnePlus' 2019 and 2020 flagship smartphones have been around for a while now. But the company has finally decided to put an end to them and published the official release schedule for the update.

Who gets it?

The OnePlus 9 family gets ColorOS software instead of HydrogenOS right out of the box. Older flagship smartphones will get the firmware "by air".

The company intends to update all seven models released in 2019 and 2020. This was announced by the chief operating officer. We are talking about OnePlus 7 / 7 Pro, OnePlus 7T / 7T Pro, OnePlus 8 / 8 Pro and OnePlus 8T.

When?

ColorOS 12 will be available for the eighth-generation family in early 2022 as an open beta. By the end of the first half of the year, the trio of flagships will also receive a stable software build.

In mid-2022, ColorOS 12 Open Beta will "arrive" to the 7-series flagship models. The quartet of two-year-old smartphones will receive a stable update in the second half of next year. The firmware itself will be unveiled as early as this month.
