Kuo: AirPods 3 headphones will be unveiled along with iPhone 13, and they are likely to be more expensive than AirPods 2
Apple has already confirmed that its traditional fall presentation (first and not last) will take place on Tuesday, September 14. The event is to unveil the iPhone 13 family of smartphones and the Apple Watch Series 7 smartwatch. But in a recent report, renowned analyst Ming-Chi Kuo (Ming-Chi Kuo) assures that there will be another new product.
Waiting for AirPods 3
According to Kuo, the AirPods 3 wireless headphones will also debut on September 14. And it's about time already: the previous second-generation AirPods came out in 2019. The new model is expected to get a design reminiscent of AirPods Pro - in particular, with shorter legs. But expect no active noise cancellation - it will remain exclusive to AirPods Pro and AirPods Max.
Analyst says the AirPods 2 will remain on sale after the new model is released, as their production is still ongoing. But in any case the old model will be cheaper than the new model. To that end, Apple will either raise the price tag of the AirPods 3 or reduce the cost of the AirPods 2. The latter, by the way, now cost from 159 dollars. Which particular option the manufacturer will choose - is not yet clear.
Overall, Kuo expects that the launch of the new generation AirPods 3 will have a positive impact on sales of Apple headphones, and the analyst predicts an increase in shipments of 10-15%.
By the way, updated AirPods Pro is not expected until next year.
