Apple unveiled the iPad mini compact tablet computer. It performed as a warm-up before the main novelties of the evening - the iPhone 13 family.

Features

Apple tried its best to update the iPad mini. The novelty is equipped with an 8.3-inch display with thin bezels. At the heart of the panel is Liquid Retina. To increase the area of useful space, developers abandoned the Home key and moved the Touch ID sensor on the top end, where it is combined with the power key.

The CPU in iPad mini is up 40 percent faster than its predecessor and the GPU is up 80 percent faster. To keep users connected all the time, Apple has integrated support for fifth generation cellular networks. There is 64GB or 256GB of built-in memory, depending on the bundle.

The main camera has 12MP resolution and f/1.8 aperture. Along with the optical module, there is a flash on the back panel. It claims to shoot 4K UHD videos. On the front panel there is also a 12MP camera. It includes an ultra-wide angle lens with a viewing angle of 122 degrees.

The new device is equipped with a USB port, as in iPad Air and stereo speakers, and the second-generation Apple Pencil stylus is attached to the metal frame by a magnet. The software is based on the iPadOS operating system.

Price

The tablet will be available in purple, pink, gold and gray colors. The price of the new iPad mini will start at $499 for Wi-Fi only edition and the 5G version will cost at least $649. Stylus ($129) and case ($59) will be available separately.
