USB IF (Implementers Forum), the organization responsible for the development of the USB standard, has unveiled new logos that will be used to mark chargers, cables and other accessories.

What's known

Thanks to the innovation, users will now be able to easily identify the capacity of USB Type-C cables. They will be labeled with 60W and 240W capacities. That is in accordance with USB Power Delivery 3.1 specification.

They didn't forget about USB4 logo. On each certified accessory manufacturers are now required to indicate the data transfer rate - 20Gbps or 40Gbps. Also the 240W power-supply units will be marked accordingly.

By the way, it looks like the EU is going to make USB-C the unified standard for charging smartphones, tablets and headphones. We wrote more about this in our recent article.
