Ming-Chi Kuo: Apple has changed its mind about launching iPad Air with OLED display in 2022
In March, renowned analyst Ming-Chi Kuo (Ming-Chi Kuo) assured that in 2022 Apple will release the iPad Air tablet with OLED display. But in a fresh note to investors, he changed his prediction.
What are the plans?
Kuo says Apple has changed its mind about equipping the iPad Air with OLED screens and plans to stick with LCD technology. The thing is that the company has concerns about quality and cost: allegedly costs and performance are not in line with Apple's expectations.
That said, the focus of the lineup will be the 11-inch iPad Pro with mini-LED display. As a reminder, only the 12,9-inch iPad Pro now boasts this technology, but next year it will be followed by the younger model with 11-inch screen.
Perhaps one of the reasons why Apple has changed its mind about releasing the iPad Air with OLED display is the potential to hurt sales of the upcoming 11-inch iPad Pro.
Kuo also says the company continues to research and develop new technologies for the iPad lineup.
