Older Xiaomi and Redmi flagships get Android 12

Xiaomi has no plans to release Android 12 software for its 2019 flagship smartphones. But this does not mean that owners of these models will not be able to install the new version of the operating system.

Enthusiast abhishek987 has developed a custom build based on Android 12 for Xiaomi Mi 9T Pro and Redmi K20 Pro. According to the developer, his version of the software is stable, but it was not without nuances.

Since Google has not fully disclosed the source code, it had to implement the Dynamic Color feature using third-party solutions. The files for installing the software are already available on the XDA Developers forum together with the instructions.

Recall, the official Android 12 with MIUI 12.5 so far get flagship models of Xiaomi Mi 11 family with Snapdragon 888 processor, as well as Redmi K40 Pro and Redmi K40 Pro+. The update is being sent out as part of the Mi Pilot program.
