VanMoof unveiled an electric bike capable of 60 km/h
Amsterdam-based company VanMoof, known primarily for its electric bikes and accessories, has introduced a new product. It is VanMoof V, and the manufacturer emphasizes that it is the fastest electric bike in the world.
VanMoof V is much faster than any other bicycle with an electric motor. The top speed reaches 37 mph or 60 km/h. By comparison, the top speed of electric bikes is currently limited to 25 mph in Europe and 20 mph in the United States.
The manufacturer says that with the launch of the VanMoof V it is challenging lawmakers and city authorities to draw attention to existing problems and to review outdated regulations for electric bikes in cities, where, as before, cars have a big advantage over other modes of transport.
The VanMoof V is based on a robust aluminium alloy frame. The bike is powered by two electric motors with a total power of 1 kilowatt, which are located in the center of the front and rear wheel. Other configurations are also possible. It is powered by a powerful 700Wh battery pack. There is automatic gear shifting, a Turbo Boost button and a special anti-theft bike locking system.
Sales of VanMoof V will start in early 2022 in the Netherlands, Germany, France, UK, USA and Japan at $3498.
