Chinese users accused Apple to "plagiarize" after the company sent out an invitation to the next presentation, which will be held on October 18.

What happened

On October 18 at 20:00 in Kiev the Cupertino-based company is expected to unveil new MacBook Pro, which will be equipped with miniLED panel with 120 Hz refresh rate. Attentive Chinese users noticed that the invitation poster strongly resembles the teaser published by Xiaomi in 2018.

Three and a half years ago, the Beijing manufacturer was preparing for the presentation of its first smartphone powered by the Snapdragon 845 processor. It was the Xiaomi Mi Mix 2, and the teaser talked about the device scoring 273,741 points in AnTuTu.

Some users see the transition into hyperspace from Star Wars in both posters, while others see the light of fireworks. One can indeed find common ground between the two images if one wants to, but it's hard to say that Apple just copied Xiaomi's teaser from almost four years ago.
