Samsung Galaxy S21 in DxOMark - good battery life and slow charging
Experts from DxOMark have tested the battery life and fast charging of the flagship smartphone Samsung Galaxy S21. The test involved a version based on the Snapdragon 888 processor, which is not officially on sale in Europe.
What about battery life?
The Samsung Galaxy S21 features a 120Hz OLED display and a 4000mAh battery. The model runs on One UI 3.1 firmware with Android 11 operating system.
Experts called the battery life not bad. With 7 hours/day usage, the smartphone lasted 31 hours, which is not a bad indicator. You can listen to music on the Samsung Galaxy S21 for 34 hours.
And fast charging?
This is where the smartphone has a problem. The January novelty supports 25-watt charging by wire. The battery is fully "charged" in 96 minutes. It is worth noting that the first 54% of the capacity is gained within 30 minutes, while up to 80% of the battery is charged in 79 minutes. As you have understood, the last 20% are given 17 minutes.
Fast charging wirelessly in the Samsung Galaxy S21 has too. It has a capacity of 15 watts, and it takes 161 minutes to fully "charge". According to the tests, the experts noted that the branded power supply, which must be purchased separately, has a low residual power consumption.
The hero of this note got only 69 points from DxOMark. The leader of the rating as OPPO Reno 6 5G has 96 points. In the overall standings Samsung Galaxy S21 took 25th place. The Exynos 2100 powered version scored 6 points less at once.
