Google has officially published the minimum system requirements for installing the mobile operating system Android 12, which specifies what technical characteristics mobile devices must have, including memory, read and write speed, screen resolution and pixel density, main camera resolution and more.

According to this information, a mobile device on which a user intends to install the new Android 12 operating system must meet the following minimum system requirements:

  • At least 6GB of RAM
  • Display resolution of at least 1080p with an image density of at least 400 pixels per inch
  • The sequential read and write speed of the flash memory used is at least 250MB/s and 120MB/s respectively.
  • Read and write speed of random data blocks at least 40 MB/s and 10 MB/s
  • Main camera with at least 12 MP resolution, capable of recording 4K video at least 30 frames per second
  • Front camera with at least 4 MP resolution, capable of recording 1080p video at 30 frames per second

These specifications were selected for a reason. They take market trends into account, and companies must meet the published minimum system requirements when developing mobile devices. If the specifications are below these minimum system requirements, the smartphone will perform poorly and consumers will not like it.
