Rumors have not been confirmed: Pixel 6 and Pixel 6 Pro will only receive 3 major Android updates

Prior to the launch of the Pixel 6 and Pixel 6 Pro , there were rumors online that Google would increase support for the new smartphones to 4 years, but it looks like that's not the case.

What is known 

According to the manufacturer's official website , the devices will receive major system updates up to and including 2024. In other words, we're talking about three years of support. Out of the box Pixel 6 and Pixel 6 Pro run on Android 12. Hence, the new products will definitely update to Android 13, Android 14 and Android 15.

As for security patches, in this case, updates will be out for 5 years. By comparison, previous "googlophones" received patches for a maximum of 4 years.
