It seems that Chinese manufacturer OPPO plans to move its smartphones to proprietary processors.
What is known
This was reported by Nikkei Asia, citing a reliable source.
According to the leak, the company's first SoC is already in development. Presumably, it will be built based on 3nm TSMC process. Such chip is planned to be used in flagship smartphones. The first devices based on it should not be expected before 2023.
In case you did not know, now proprietary processors are used by Samsung, Apple and Google. The list also included Huawei, but due to U.S. sanctions, the Chinese manufacturer had to curtail production of the chip.
