Xiaomi Smart Camera 2 PTZ: IP dome camera with 4 MP sensor and night mode for $39

Xiaomi has expanded its home gadget range with a new Smart Camera 2 PTZ IP camera.

What's known

The new model has a 4-megapixel sensor, which is able to record video at 2.5K (2560×1440p) resolution. It has an f/1.4 aperture. For comparison, in the previous version of the camera, this figure was f1.2. That is, the new model in theory should let in more light. It also boasts a 6P lens, two-way voice communication, noise-cancelling microphone, 2.4/5GHz Wi-Fi support, and a night shooting mode. It works in tandem with the IR sensor. 

The camera uses a PTZ design with two motors. This allows the lens to rotate 360 degrees horizontally and up to 108 degrees vertically. The device is able to recognize animals as well as people in the frame. The device is controlled through a branded application on your smartphone. 

Xiaomi Smart Camera 2 PTZ has already started selling in China. The first buyers can buy the gadget for $36. Then the price tag will increase to $39.
