Huawei MateBook 14 2021 laptops on Ryzen 5000 processors introduced, priced from $940
Huawei has quietly announced MateBook 14 laptops powered by Ryzen 5000 hybrid processors with integrated graphics. The 2021 lineup includes two models with U-series chips.
What
Regardless of the package, all versions of the Huawei MateBook 14 are equipped with a 2K display that takes up 90% of the inner side of the lid. The manufacturer claimed 100% sRGB color gamut coverage, a contrast ratio of 1500 to 1 and a brightness of up to 300 nits. The diagonal is 14", which is clear from the name.
The base version has a Ryzen 5 5500U processor. It has 6 cores with multi-threading support. The frequency ranges from 2.1 GHz to 4.0 GHz. The APU contains an integrated Vega 7 chip with up to 1.8 GHz. The top-end version features an 8-core, 16-core Ryzen 7 5700U chip with up to 4.3 GHz and Vega 8 graphics. Both processors are made using 7nm FinFET technology and have a nominal TDP of 15W.
Huawei MateBook 14 gets a 56Wh battery with 65W fast charging. Battery life in video playback mode is 11 hours. There are two USB-A, USB-C, HDMI and Mini-Jack on board.
Pricing
The laptop comes with 16GB of RAM and a 512GB SSD drive. The Ryzen 5 5500U-powered version is priced at $940. The variant with Ryzen 7 5700U under the hood was priced at $985. The Huawei MateBook 14 will be available in gray and silver body colors.
