Chinese streamer Austin Li Jiaqi, known as "The King of Lipstick," sold $1.7 billion worth of goods live in 12 hours.

What's known

On October 20, 2021, the Middle Kingdom streamer was able to make ¥10.7 billion or $1.7 billion by selling goods through the Taobao app. He said about 250 million people watched the live broadcast, which lasted for 12 hours.

It should be noted that Alibaba usually does not disclose information about sales. The data was shared by analytical company Hongren Dianji.

Another Chinese streamer, Viya, was slightly less fortunate. He was lucky enough to earn ¥8.3 billion or $1.25 billion in 14 hours.

Recall that last year during Double 11 total sales on Chinese marketplaces were $ 115 billion. This is 24 times more than on Amazon during Black Friday and Cyber Monday. But to be fair, the sales in China last almost a month.
