Recently, smartphone manufacturers have become fierce environmentalists, taking steps to reduce electronic waste. They are removing chargers from packaging and plastic from packaging, and also using recycled materials in production. Now the same company that makes Nokia-branded phones, HMD Global has announced a partnership with Ecologi, whose members help reduce carbon pollution, restore wildlife habitat and accelerate the transition to a sustainable future.

The manufacturer seems determined to help green the planet, but in a very interesting way. Users are promised to plant trees for every gadget they buy, that is the higher Nokia sales - the more trees planted.

This applies to the XR20 secure smartphone, G series models and X, and also the new tablet T20. Only "the rates" for them are different: for the purchase of each sold Nokia G50 will plant 10 trees, for Nokia X10, X20 or Nokia T20 - for 20 trees, and for Nokia XR20 - as many as 50 trees.

Those who are interested and want to contribute to the environmental movement just need to register the IMEI number of a suitable smartphone. Trees will be planted in either Mozambique or Madagascar, and the campaign will continue until the company plants 35,000 trees.
