Apple added a "Scale to Fit" setting to prevent app menu bar items from hiding below the camera cutout
Apple has published a new document that explains how users can make it so that application menu bar elements are not hidden behind the cutout, or "camera body" as Apple calls it, on the new 14-inch and 16-inch MacBook Pro models.
Apple says that users can enable the "zoom to fit under the built-in camera" feature for an app to adjust the active display area, ensuring that the app menu bar items appear under the cutout and are always visible.
To enable "zoom in under the built-in camera" for an app on newer MacBook Pro models, open the Finder app and click Applications in the sidebar. Then right-click on the desired app and select "Get Info" (or simply press the Cmd+I shortcut). In the "Info" window that pops up, check the "Scale to fit the built-in camera" box and the display will automatically adjust when the app is opened.
The setup was demonstrated in a tweet by Joseph Angelo Todaro from Sketch.
Apple notes that developers can update their app to work better with Sketch, in which case the "scale to fit under the built-in camera" setting no longer appears.
