TikTok will have tips
TikTok is experimenting with a new tool that allows TikTok users to tip certain creators directly in their profiles.
According to a video about the tip featureshared this week by TikToker(s) Jera Bean, who noticed the feature in the app and applied for approval, any money left for creators as a tip will go directly to that person (meaning TikTok doesn't take a cut).
To qualify for tips, accounts must be "in good standing," have at least 100,000 subscribers, meet the age limit and agree to TikTok's tip terms. If authors meet these criteria, they can apply to receive, but it's unclear if everyone who applies will be approved.
Judging by the follow-up video by Jera Beanpublished Thursday night, the application process seems to be going fairly quickly. The account has a "tip" button that directs users to a page where they can leave the author a tip of $5, $10, $15, or any other amount of their choice ($1 minimum). In addition, the platform allows you to send a tip anonymously.
