Back in June Indian company Jio announced the smartphone JioPhone Next, which called "cheapest 4G smartphone in the world ". It's almost November on the calendar, and here's the manufacturer finally breaking the silence and naming the price of the gadget.

What and

 why?

So, at retail in native Indian market JioPhone Next will cost 6 499 Indian rupees (87 USD). Given the high-profile claims, a much lower price tag was expected, but to be fair, the phone is indeed affordable. Additionally, there will be an installment plan available for 18 and 24 months for Indian users.

Recall, the gadget is developed in collaboration with  Google. Particularly , it uses Pragati OS, which is an optimized version of Android. Google will continue to support the phone by adding new features similar to those of the Pixel through software updates.

As for specs, the JioPhone Next gets a 5,45-inch LCD display with HD+ resolution, Qualcomm Snapdragon 215 processor, just 2GB RAM and 32GB internal memory. The front camera 8MP, the primary camera includes only one sensor with 13 MP resolution. The battery capacity is 3,500 mAh and is charged via microUSB.

Recall that JioPhone Next will remain exclusive to India.
