Time to retire: Google is ending support for the Pixel 3 and Pixel 3 XL

Google, after three years of updates, is discontinuing support for the Pixel 3 and Pixel 3 XL smartphones.

What's known

The devices recently received their latest security patch (for October), and before that the latest major operating system update, Android 12. 

Recall The Pixel 3 and Pixel 3 XL debuted in 2018 with Android 9 Pie on board. The younger model in the lineup has a 5.5-inch FHD+ OLED screen and a 2,915mAh battery, while the older one has a 6.3-inch P-OLED matrix screen with QHD+ resolution. The device is powered by a 3430 mAh battery.

Both smartphones have a single 12.2 MP camera, 4GB RAM and Snapdragon 845 processor.
