Now not just cheap gadgets: Realme enters the premium segment with smartphones over $800
The OPPO Realme sub-brand gained its popularity through low-cost smartphones that offer good value for money and quality. But now it seems the company has decided to conquer the higher segment as well.
What does this mean?
At the China Mobile Global Partner conference, company executive Xu Qi (Xu Qi) said that Realme is entering the premium segment of mobile phones. According to him, the price of products will reach 5,000 yuan, and it is in the region of 780 US dollars. The brand promises to unveil its first serious flagship in early next year. But what kind of model it will be - not specified.
By the way, companies like Xiaomi, ORRO and Vivo are also expanding into the high price segment. Apparently, they are all trying to occupy the niche that has been vacated by Huawei. Recall that the Chinese manufacturer is losing its position due to sanctions imposed by the US, shortage of components and inability to use American technology.
It is true that the market of high-end smartphones is dominated by Apple and Samsung with their flagships. But Chinese companies, including Realme, can compete with them, as they offer more adequate price tags.
