Insider: Samsung preparing to release Exynos 1280 5nm processor

According to Chinese insider Ice Universe, Samsung is working on the Exynos 1280 processor.

What is known

SoC will be built on a 5-nanometer process and it is planned to be installed in smartphones of the initial and middle price segment. Unfortunately, specs of the chipset are not available yet. Only known that the novelty will be weaker than last year's Exynos 1080 processor.

Recall, it is also built on 5-nanometer technology process. The SoC has a Mali-G78 graphics accelerator and eight cores: one high-performance Cortex-A78 (2.8 GHz), three balanced Cortex-A78 (2.6 GHz) and four power-efficient Cortex-A55 (2.0 GHz).

No announcement date for Exynos 1280 yet, but we can assume that it will be shown along with Exynos 2200 late this year or early next year.
