Ford has announced an engine that will help owners of internal combustion engine cars convert them into an electric car.

What is known

The engine is named Eluminator e-crate and, according to the company, it is installed in a charged version of Mustang Mach-E GT. Such an engine has 281 hp and 433 Nm of torque.

To demonstrate Eluminator e-crate, Ford turned the classic 1978 F-100 pickup into an electric car. Ford installed two engines with a power of 480 horsepower. They provide 860 Nm of torque. In addition, the novelty received an updated interior. There is an electric dashboard, new steering wheel, seats and vertical 15.5-inch multimedia display. Exactly the same is installed in the company's latest cars.

. When to wait

. Unfortunately, the electric F-100 was made in a single copy, and Ford does not plan to start serial production. As for the Eluminator e-crate engine, you can already buy it for $3,900. By the way, in the future the company also plans to sell separately batteries, special controllers and other components that will simplify the process of converting combustion engines.
