Xiaomi intends to take one of its hit Redmi Note series smartphones off the market in the near future.

What is known

The model announced at the end of 2019 will go under the knife. We're talking about the Redmi Note 9 5G for the Chinese market. It features a Dimensity 800U processor, 48-megapixel main camera, stereo speakers, Full HD+ display and a 5000mAh battery.

This is one of the company's best-selling smartphones out of all the models announced during 2019. Xiaomi didn't disclose exact numbers specifically for the Redmi Note 9 5G, but the family's total sales for China reached 1 million units in less than 13 days since its launch.

Xiaomi will drop the Redmi Note 9 5G after the 11.11 sale, which is taking place in China these days. In Europe, the smartphone is sold as the Redmi Note 9T. It too might be fading into oblivion after the Redmi Note 11 family debuts in the global market.
