Xiaomi officially announced the release date of MIUI 13
Xiaomi CEO Lei Jun announced the release date of MIUI 13 software.
When?
MIUI 13 firmware was expected last year, but in December, along with Xiaomi Mi 11, the company introduced MIUI 12.5. Then there were rumors about the release of the shell in early summer 2021, but they were promptly officially denied by Xiaomi itself.
Insiders began to report that MIUI 13 would debut in August along with the flagship Xiaomi MIX 4. However, instead of the thirteenth revision we saw MIUI 12.5 Enhanced, and a few days later the head of the company said that the premiere of the new software version will be later.
It's been a few months since then, and now the Xiaomi CEO has officially confirmed that MIUI 13 will debut this year. In case you forgot, it's about eight weeks away.
MIUI 13 should bring a slew of new features and an updated GUI. One of the big new features will be RAM expansion technology. There will also be iOS-style widgets and a refined smartphone search mode to combat theft.
In most cases, MIUI 13 will be built on Android 12, but relatively older models will get the firmware with Android 11. As always, the software will appear in China first before the global version is released.
