YouTube disables disliking (it really doesn't)
Google has announced that from today, YouTube's teaser buttons will begin to disappear from YouTube.
Why?
Previously, authors have repeatedly complained that small and not promoted channels are being hated, and viewers purposely put the dislikes under such videos more often than under the content of popular channels with a large audience. To rule out such attacks, YouTube tested hidden ticker counters "not like". The experiment showed a decrease in dislike, so as of today, this is no longer testing, but an innovation.
So what's going to change? Now there will be no disliking counter under each video on YouTube - only the number of positive ratings. Viewers will still be able to dislike videos, but they won't see the total number . But but creators will be able to see stats in YouTube Studio to understand how effective their content is.
Some users use counters to decide whether or not to watch a video. "We know that you may not agree with this decision, but think it's the right thing for the platform", - say the developers.
"We want to create an inclusive and respectful environment in which authors have the opportunity to succeed and feel safe to express themselves. This is just one of many steps we are taking to continue to protect authors from abuse. Our work is not over yet, and we will continue to invest here", - summed up the YouTube team.
