Apple on Wednesday released an update to its iCloud utility for Windows that allows PC users to use some of the features of Apple's cloud service. In the latest version of iCloud for Windows, the company has added a built-in password generator, support for ProRAW and ProRes codecs, and more.

Back in August iCloud for Windows was expanded with a password manager so that users could access stored credentials not only from their Apple devices but also from their Windows PC. The list of features has now expanded to include the ability to generate strong passwords that can be used by apps or websites, like macOS and iOS.

Apple has also added support for ProRAW and ProRes formats, which are respectively codecs for images and video that retain more information in each file and with less loss of quality. Now if you take ProRAW photos or shoot ProRes video with your iPhone, you can sync and view the content on your Windows computer.

iCloud Drive also gets new features in the Windows version. In this iCloud Utility update, the company finally allows users to add or delete people from a shared folder. Needless to say, iCloud Utility for Windows contains the rest of the iCloud features including Photos, Mail, Contacts, and more.

You can download iCloud for Windows completely free from in the Microsoft Store. Proper operation in Edge and Chrome browsers requires installation of appropriate plug-ins.
