Xiaomi is often scolded for its slow distribution of Android operating system updates. This is especially true for the global market. But the company has found someone to blame.

Who's to blame?

Often smartphones on MediaTek chips are slower to update than models with Qualcomm single-chip systems, even though the chipmakers receive Android operating system code from Google at the same time. As it turns out, Xiaomi has nothing to do with it. The fault lies with the Taiwanese processor giant.

The thing is that Qualcomm has a large staff and several teams work simultaneously on software adaptation. MediaTek has fewer specialists involved in software optimization, due to which smartphones on Dimensity and Helio chips receive updates in the second or third wave.
