The information was shared by Chinese insider Ice Universe. According to him Qualcomm is thinking to name the SoC Snapdragon 8 gen1.
Recall, the chip is due to be unveiled later this month at the Snapdragon Tech Summit event. According to rumors, the new chip will be based on 4nm process technology. The chip is credited with the main core AMR Cortex-X2 with clocked at 3.0 GHz, three middle cores based Cortex-A710 with clocked at 2.5 GHz and four efficient cores Cortex-A510 with clocked at 1.79 GHz. In addition, the processor should get Adreno 730 graphics and the new Snapdragon X65 5G modem with 10Gbps downlink speed.
Incidentally, MediaTek is also preparing its new top-end SoC. What's interesting, according to an insider, it will also be renamed. It may hit the market with the name Dimensity 9000 instead of Dimensity 2000.
