Kyocera DuraSport - Protected smartphone with Qualcomm processor and Android 11 for $580

Kyocera has unveiled a new smartphone encased in an impact-resistant case with water and dust protection. The model is called Kyocera DuraSport.

What's the fruit?

The case protection meets IP68 and MIL-STD-810H standards. The smartphone is not afraid of dust, water, sanitizers, soap, alcoholic beverages, drops and extreme temperatures. There are rubber inserts on the corners that take the impact.

Kyocera DuraSport features a 6.1" Full HD+ display. The IPS matrix is covered by Gorilla Glass 6 glass. There is an 8MP front-facing camera on the front side, while is a 48MP main module paired with a 16MP ultra-wide-angle one, which is accompanied by a fingerprint scanner. The proprietary Action Overlay shooting mode gives the ability to add additional information to movies, including driving speed, weather, geolocation, and the distance traveled.

The novelty has a Snapdragon 480 chip with 5G support. The amount of RAM is 4 GB, while the permanent memory is 64 GB. A 4,500mAh battery with 27W wired charging and 8.1W wireless (Qi) charging is responsible for the battery life. Also note NFC, 802.11mc positioning and Android 11 OS.

Price of the matter

Kyocera sells its smartphones officially only in the US and Japan. And there is a different model range for each market. Kyocera DuraSport is released in the United States. The price is $580.
