Huawei introduced a new version of the bendable Mate X2 smartphone. The original model was released in early 2021. Now we meet the updated version - Huawei Mate X2 Collector's Edition.

What's new

The special edition has several differences. First, the back side is decorated with leather. Available in three colors: black, white and red. Secondly, the amount of RAM has been increased from 8 GB to 12 GB. Thirdly, the external screen is covered with a new stronger protective glass with nano-crystals.

The rest of the specifications remained unchanged. The Huawei Mate X2 Collector's Edition features two 90Hz 8.0" and 6.45" screens, a Kirin 9000 processor and a 4,500mAh battery with 55W wired charging.

The main camera resolution is 50 MP + 12 MP + 16 MP + 8 MP. It has two telephoto modules providing 3x (12 MP) and 10x (8 MP) zoom without loss of quality. For selfies, the 16MP front-facing camera is used, though you can also take photos of yourself with the main camera due to the large screen at the back.

The Huawei Mate X2 Collector's Edition has a side biometric sensor, 512GB of internal storage, NFC and stereo speakers. The software platform is the proprietary HarmonyOS 2.0 operating system.

Price

Compared to the original model, you have to pay $110 extra for the leather back, new glass and additional 4GB of RAM. The Huawei Mate X2 Collector's Edition cost $3,090 in China. The regular Mate X2 with 512GB of internal storage was priced at $2,980.
