Huawei also unveiled an unusual new bike helmet with various smart features and the long name Helmetphone BH51M Neo Smart Helmet during a presentation in China today.

What is this

 gimmick?

It's a helmet for rollerblading, skateboarding or biking that's designed to make traveling on roads safer. It runs based on the HarmonyOS operating system and via Bluetooth can connect to your smartphone. You can then make calls, set emergency contacts and play music with the built-in speakers.

The front and back of the helmet also has LED illumination, which is especially useful on busy roads during dark times. And the built-in gravity acceleration sensor detects deceleration, which means the LED lights up when you slow down, and signals you to turn.

The smart helmet is already on sale in China with a price tag of about $125 .
